Explus provides museum fabrication services for custom permanent, temporary and traveling exhibits for various Federal, State and Private institutions. Opportunities pursued by our firm have typically been full-service and turnkey fabrication services for interpretive exhibits relating to corporate, cultural & natural history, science & technology, sports and traveling exhibitions, as well as highly interactive and engaging children’s exhibits. These designs have included interactive learning experiences, A/V hardware and software technologies, thematic immersive scenic environments, flowing organic structures, and the integration of artifacts into interpretive storylines.

Exhibit Engineering & Detailing >>
- Our exhibit engineers convert the final design package, as provided by the Client into detailed shop drawings that are used for fabrication in creating elements true to the design intent. Detailing is continuously involved throughout the production process providing solutions for interface, engineering and structural issues, product availability, material specifications, and other critical production related issues that may arise. The detailing process is a highly collaborative effort that considers and anticipates the needs and requirements of the Client, Designer and Fabricator.

Scenic & Art Production >>
- Fortunate to be staffed with a group of extremely talented scenic artisans, our wide range of in-house scenic talents available include natural environment recreations that can incorporate faux finishes, natural and man made materials, artifacts & artifact recreations, murals & illustrations, airbrush & architectural style painting, faux surface finishes, rockwork, 3D sculpture, as well as dioramas. These environments can be realistic, stylized, or thematic. Architectural recreation is also available, such as historical scenes involving old storefronts, barns, or even more modernistic styles.

- Our talented in-house graphic production department coordinates the receipt and cataloging of all graphic elements, scanning, high-end manipulation of photographs, original artwork, and digital graphics. The process continues through the production of quality conscience art creation, subsequent review stages, in-house printing & mounting.

- Explus’ highly trained in-house artifact mounting experts are equipped to complete most any scope of work. With careful and meticulous coordination, all artifact mounting is performed after Client and designer reviews and approves the proposed techniques and methods. Great care is taken with artifacts through professional selection and use of mounting materials & methods for each delicate item. All artifact mounts are custom-made to support and showcase artifacts without placing any stress on the object or necessitating any alteration or damage.

Museum Quality Artifact Case Construction >>
- It is always a privilege and an obligation to help preserve past for future generations. Explus was instrumental in defining the standards & conservation guidelines currently advocated by the National Park Service’s Conservation Guidelines. Creating some of the most advanced non-military controlled environments in use today, we have provided years of state-of-the-art protection for some of the Nation’s most valuable assets. One significant example would be the Treasurer’s Case for the Library of Congress, which houses an original hand written copy of the Declaration of Independence penned by Jefferson.

- Our full staff of knowledgeable experts specializes in the storage, crating, shipping, on-site installation & maintenance of museum interiors. Because artisans and fabricators often have an intimate and unique understanding of the exhibit components, one or more members of the fabrication team may accompany installers on-site.
