PROJECT INFORMATION:
Location: Knoxville, TN Size: 3,200 Square Feet Contract / Project Type: Bid Build The Gateway Regional Visitor Center at Volunteer Landing in Knoxville, Tennessee, displays the nature, culture, and technology of the Tennessee Valley Region. Located along the Tennessee River at Volunteer Landing, the Gateway Regional Visitor Center celebrates the natural diversity of this region, the pioneering spirit of its people and some of the technological marvels that have been developed in East Tennessee. Exhibits within the center have three main focus areas: the abundant natural resources of the Southern Highlands, the cultural resources available in the Knoxville area and the technological resources of the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Complex. Features include a two-story tall rock wall illustrating the local layers of strata and a pair of two-story-tall artifact cases showing the biodiversity of the region.
