The Old Red Museum of Dallas County History & Culture is a new museum in the heart of downtown Dallas in the newly renovated and restored 1890’s red sandstone Old Red Courthouse facing Dealey Plaza. Encompassing two floors, the exhibits illustrate four time periods, the Early Years, Trading Center, Big “D” and World Crossroads, as well as the rich history of Dallas County, from prehistoric times to its illustrious place in our present-day nation’s history. These educational stories are told through artifacts, graphics, photographs, mechanical interactives, original movie presentations and touch screen stories accompanied by interpretive information panels.
